WHO ARE WE?
Houston Panhellenic Council is a part of the National Panhellenic Conference, one of the largest organizations advocating for women and an umbrella organization for 26 social sororities and women’s fraternities. Our mission as an organization is guided by our Panhellenic creed, as well as 4 purposes; we are leaders, we are students, we are philanthropists, and we are sisters.
WE ARE LEADERS
As Panhellenic women, we empower each other to serve in leadership roles and equip women with skills for a lifetime. Panhellenic women serve in many different leadership capacities across campus and the greater Houston community. From serving in roles as fee-funded leaders to the Student Government Association, Panhellenic women take every opportunity to be involved and give back to campus.
WE ARE STUDENTS
Not only are we Greek members but we are also University of Houston students. Studies have shown that students who are members of sororities and fraternities are more likely to graduate compared to students who are not affiliated. We motivate each other to succeed scholastically for our future careers. It's having a support system to keep one another accountable to study but also go cheer on our Coogs at football games, basketball games and baseball games.
WE ARE PHILANTHROPISTS
Every year, our organizations give thousands of dollars and numerous hours to philanthropies and those in need. In addition, sororities dedicate time to participate in community service and bond together over their mutual love of giving back.
WE ARE SISTERS
Find your home away from home with your sorority membership. Sisterhood is different from friendship. It is holding the same values at heart, a love for your organization and a common ritual that bonds you to thousands of women across the world. Being a sister is there for you no matter the circumstance whether to talk to each other every day or haven't to each other in months. Make lifelong connections and friendships which will make your University of Houston experience unforgettable.
